Amba - Cleveland: A Culinary Gem in the Heart of Cleveland

Be prepared cuz it's going to be a dark intimate experience but it is very aesthetically pleasing! customer service 10 out of 10, food 10 out of 10. The waitress took her time and explained everything on the menu and how ordering works I love that you can either order off the menu or they also have menus where you can select how many people are going to be eating and it's just a fully culinary curated experience. Will definitely be going back.

Been driving around Ohio and have to say this is one of the best restaurants we went to recently. Cool atmosphere, nice wait staff, and the food outstanding. Small dishes that are still plenty big enough to share. Samosas were tasty, spinach dip with Nan bread was amazing, and the rice was out of this world. Cashews are spicy but delicious. Leave room for dessert. Take home the extra food with a doggy bag!

We walked in here and were whisked away immediately. The ambience caught our attention. The food stole our hearts. There were moments when I found myself wondering where I was and how this gem was hidden in plain sight. This restaurant is something else. If you’re in Cleveland, don’t sleep on it. Next time I’m back here I’m getting two orders of the pickled vegetables.

The aesthetics and atmosphere of this restaurant are so posh, sexy, and romantic. That was my first impression. The cocktails are thoughtfully created with amazing flavors! The menu options are unique to any Indian/ fusion restaurant I’ve been to, you can eat well as a vegetarian or as a carnivore.

Well, we definitely love to eat, but it has to be very good in excellent blends of flavor so we found this hidden jewel in Cleveland. Our son was with us from out of town, so what we did was we took a bunch of all the Shareable plates. WOW! I really mean, I can’t believe the blends of flavor herbs just never heard of, but it just blended so well together in all of the dishes we had we tried the lamb cough kofta, even with the dipping sauces, we just poured everything on our plate with those sauces and it was just awesome. It even calmed down some of the spicier dishes we had , had the popcorn chicken, the shrimp, ginger, the clay bread. I tried to take pictures, but we were really too busy eating before I could even take a picture of the full plate. We were waiting for a table, but decided to go to the bar and it was very intimate and quiet and very comfortable.This is place to go if you want something out of your ordinary Too buzy enjoying food buy snapped a pic between bits!

Amba was unusual, but very much in a positive sense. The food was an unexpected mishmash of Desi plus pan-Asian flavors dressed up in a hip American way, but all the same it wasn’t overly pretentious (and the prices were pretty reasonable, especially compared to other higher end restaurants). While nearly everything we ate was good, save the disappointingly bland chili oil, the best items were by far the raita, panipuri, and kulfi. Pro tip: do NOT sleep on the kulfi!! Service was prompt and attentive and the vibe was bamboo chic (again without taking itself too seriously). Would I come here if I was craving homestyle Indian cooking? No. But would I come back? For sure!

Dined here before show so got here nice and early (5:30 PM) and it’s a good thing! The place packed in the customers shortly thereafter! I would recommend dining at the bar as the restaurant is a bit too dimly lit and the bar has wonderful lighting to see the glorious food which was equally delicious!!
